Tamar Valley Resort Grindelwald is a Northern Tasmanian iconic tourist destination, located in the famous Tamar Valley wine region. Comprising of a 97-room resort and specialising in a variety of markets including Conferencing, Weddings, Coach Groups and Families. The Resort has a 150 seat Bistro open breakfast lunch and dinner daily, as well as 3 function rooms, with seating ranging from 60 – 120 guests. Other onsite facilities include a Golf Course, Pool and Gym, Lakes for water activities and numerous other draw cards.
As the Rooms Division Manager, you will be directly reporting to General Manager, and you will have the ability to implement immediate strategies to improve the day-to-day operations of the front office and housekeeping departments
Expectations include:
- Take leadership and be in charge of operations, ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service.
- You will establish where necessary and maintain high standards of operating systems, policies & procedures, reviewing and improving these regularly.
- Responsible for all aspects of staff management including recruitment, supervision, rostering and training.
- You will play a key role in maintaining good staff morale by regularly holding staff meetings.
- You will have an eye for detail.
- Constant presence on the front desk & leading by example will be necessary.
Required skills & attributes:
- Previous experience in a similar fast paced venue, ensuring effective management of all aspects of accommodation operations (great career opportunity for existing Front Office Manager)
- Your knowledge of Revenue, Rooms, Housekeeping, Groups
- Ability to think on your feet and multi task, together with previous experience operating in a hotel up to 100 rooms
You must be prepared to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and public holidays.
